Week 3 Recap, Heisman race and Week 4 Preview

It's week 4 of the young college season.  No shake up in the top 5.  Most teams are starting their conference schedule.  Let's recap what happened in week 3:

  • Jalen Hurts and the Crimson Tide continue to rule the College football scene.  Jalen threw for 248 yards 2 touchdowns and had 11 carries 103 yards 1 td.
  • Clemson's defense played a major factor getting 4 sacks against Lamar Jackson.  Ray Ray McCloud helped with his 7 catches 115 yards.
  • Baker Mayfield led the Sooners with 4 td passes
  • USC survived an exciting double OT thriller against Texas
  • Image result for mason rudolph vs pitt   Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph entered the Heisman chase with his 497 yards 5tds against Pittsburgh
  • Mississippi State destroyed LSU behind Nick Fitzgerald 2 tds passing and 2 tds rushing.
  • Quinton Flowers threw 4tds while having 25 carries 106 yards 1 TD.

HEISMAN CHASE:  So far Jalen has the #1 team and he is collecting some huge numbers.  With Lamar Jackson getting destroyed by Clemson's defense Jalen has played consistent winning football.  Saquon Barkley is making a steady climb with his dynamic play.

NFL week 1 Recap, Top 5, and team spotlight

  • Young Jags D had 10 sacks, Calais Campbell had 4 by himself.  Leonard Fournette starts his career rushing over 100yds and a touchdown
  • Ravens D got 4 picks and blanked the Bengals 20-0.

*****My player of the week goes to Sam Bradford on Offense and Calais Campbell on Defense.*****

After week 1 here are my top 5 teams heading into week 2:
  1. Kansas City
  2. Falcons
  3. Vikings
  4. Steelers
  5. Packers

Team Spotlight- Jaguars
2016 - 3-13
Head Coach Doug Maroone
Blake Bortles threw 16ints last season and struggled through camp almost being replaced by Henne or Kapernick.  This season with this young defense with Jalen Ramsey, Myles Jack, and Dante Fowler emerging it will be tough to score on them.  Bortles may not have to do much.  Beating the Texans on the road is only a preview of how good they can be.

Highlight Draft Picks:
  • Leonard Fournette
  • Cam Robinson
  • Dede Westbrook

Fantasy Spotlights:
  • Leonard Fournette
  • Defense

WEEK 3 Top 25

Week 3 of the College football season will feature a new addition to the top 5 since Ohio State got thumped at home against OU.  With 1 loss Ohio State stays in the top 10 ahead of some really good undefeated teams.  I kinda smell a little controversy, but too early.  There are no hurricane to cancel any games this week.  1 game is postponed because of repairs.  Otherwise we have a full slate this weekend.  This week features a match up that maybe shake up the top 10 for next week.  Lamar goes up against a team that piled up 11 Sacks.
